Mountainview Animal Hospital

Member of the Emergency Veterinary Clinic

The Emergency Veterinary Clinic on Highway 10 is the creation of 24 local area veterinarians including those in Georgetown, Orangeville, Bolton and Brampton. The purpose of this emergency hospital is to improve upon the way after hour emergencies are handled for you and your pet.

The Emergency Veterinary Clinic is staffed with veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians that are prepared to care for your pet’s emergency medical and surgical needs upon your arrival. In fact, you don’t even have to call ahead, if time is of the essence just get in your car and go. If you have a less urgent problem and wish to call ahead first, the staff at the emergency clinic can likely give you some tips on how to prepare for your visit.

Should your pet be admitted to the emergency clinic for an overnight stay, rest assured he or she will receive constant supervision; this is often not possible overnight at most family veterinary clinics. If you are hesitant to take your pet to an unfamiliar place, not to worry, we have thought of that too. The emergency clinic is only open after hours when we are closed. So you will be bringing your pet back to us, your family veterinarian, the following business day to carry on with your pet’s care. In most cases we will already know to expect you, since the emergency clinic will fax the medical records to us first thing in the morning.

As a founding member of the emergency clinic the doctors of Mountainview Animal Hospital will, along with the other members, have an influence on the running and direction of the emergency clinic. This gives us confidence in the quality of the medicine and surgery that is provided to your pets should they ever need after hours care.

The Emergency Veterinary Clinic on Hwy 10 in Brampton is located on the South/East corner of Hurontario Street (HWY 10) and Wexford Road, just 1 block north of Bovaird (HWY 7 or Guelph Street) in the Wexford Plaza (see map). It is open from 7pm until 8am weekdays, and from 7pm on Fridays until 8am on Monday mornings over the weekend. The doctors and staff are ready and prepared to receive you, or time permitting you can call ahead at 905-495-9907.

Of course, we all hope you will never need emergency care for your pet but it is best to be prepared. For that reason we can provide you with a refrigerator magnet and a clinic pamphlet to keep them handy, just in case! Just drop by our office at your convenience and pick them up.
